Cooking Instructions

WASH YOUR VEGGIES

  • Wash and dice your apple before getting started.

Sauté the apple

  • Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add diced apple, cinnamon, and honey. Cook 3–4 min, stirring occasionally, until the apple is softened and slightly caramelized. Set aside.

Cook the oats

  • In a small saucepan, combine rolled oats, milk, chia seeds, honey, cinnamon, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for 5–7 min until the oats are creamy and thick.

  • Adjust consistency with a splash more milk if needed.

Assemble and serve

  • Pour oats into a bowl. Top with sautĂ©ed apple, mixed nuts, and shredded coconut. Drizzle with extra honey and serve immediately.

Tips & Notes

  • Gala or Fuji apples hold their shape best when sautĂ©ed — avoid varieties that go too mushy.

  • Chia seeds thicken the oats as they cook and add a nice texture — stir well so they don't clump.

  • Don't skip sautĂ©ing the apple — the caramelization and cinnamon makes a huge flavor difference vs raw apple.

  • Make it ahead: cook the oats and store in the fridge overnight, reheat in the morning with a splash of milk, then add fresh toppings.

  • Swap milk for oat milk or almond milk to make it dairy-free.

  • The shredded coconut on top adds a subtle sweetness and a nice textural contrast — don't skip it.
